Having an effective fire fighting pump on board your vessel can mean the difference between a quick and complete recovery from a fire outbreak. Depending on the severity and size of a fire outbreak, water can be pumped at high rates to extinguish a fire or to remove smoke and heat from the area. In these circumstances, it is important to have a reliable and durable diesel fire pump that is capable of producing high water pressure and flow. This is where our range of quality fire pumps come into play.
These portable diesel firefighting pumps are ideal for use on board vessels to combat a fire outbreak. They can be used to provide water for fire suppression, hose reels and fire hydrant applications as well as general wash down. Our range of fire pumps comes in a variety of inlet/outlet sizes from 1.5 to 3 inch as well as a selection of fuel tanks and options such as electric start systems.
Our Diesel Fire Pump are designed to be as easy as possible to transport and operate on board ships. This is achieved by using a heavy duty and highly corrosion resistant marine grade aluminium alloy that has been powder coated. The pump casing is also designed to withstand significant input pressure from hydrant/relay pumping which allows the water pressure from the pump to be boosted without exceeding the pump’s pressure rating. Powering the water pump is a reconditioned Ford in-line 4 cylinder diesel engine developing 44 kW (60hp). The engine and pump are protected by a heavy duty steel frame that ensures both the engine and the pump are kept secure from all angles.
The flanges on the rotary nozzle connections are fitted with Storz C-2″ couplings which allow for a quick and safe connection of the nozzles. The pump itself is built based on the well-known and proven DESMI SA pump series. The pump casing is made of seawater resistant aluminium and the impeller from stainless steel. The pump is close coupled to a newly developed lightweight hand start Hatz diesel engine with electric start available as an option.
Diesel fire fighting pumps are not only ideal for the protection of lives and property in a fire outbreak, they are also excellent for a range of other tasks such as high-pressure water transfer and spray irrigation. When used for fire fighting, they offer great reliability as they can be operated in remote locations where electricity is unavailable.
With fire an ever present threat throughout Australia, home and business owners are becoming increasingly aware of the need to have a backup fire fighter. Our wide range of petrol and diesel powered fire pumps are easy to transport and work without the need for electricity at a competitive price. We offer a range of different models with both twin and single impellers to suit your specific requirements.
